Rich | Legacy Portrait Session with Brian Powers

Legacy Portrait Photography | Celebrating a Life, Career, and Personality

Some portrait sessions are about more than a season of life. They’re about the story someone has built over decades. Legacy portraits create space to celebrate the work, resilience, humor, and personality that define a person’s journey, whether that means honoring a long career, documenting grandparents surrounded by family, or capturing the strength of someone who refuses to slow down.

Loved this shoot I had with Rich to celebrate his great career. We were lucky to get access to an old abandoned train station and watch tower he once worked in. Despite sub freezing temps and ice cold windchill, we got some great shots. Rich is one of the funniest guys I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. He is arguably the most consistently active man to walk the planet. Rivaling the likes of David Goggins! 💪🏻 He never shies away from a challenge. From running mountains, pushing weight and pickleball battles, to dance offs in the living room with his contagious laughter. Rich infuses goofy and humor into his family like few can. It’s fun to see his kids and grandkids take on the free spirit and silly energy.

Sessions like this go beyond traditional portraits. They document legacy, personality, and the environment that shaped someone’s life. Whether photographed in meaningful workplaces, homes, or landscapes tied to their story, these images become part of what families hold onto for generations.

Photographed by Brian Powers, legacy portrait sessions are designed for people who want to honor a life well lived and preserve the spirit that made it meaningful.
